Our Work

Tenant Sanctuary is a tenants rights education and counseling program servicing renters in Santa Cruz County. We work with tenants to understand what rights they have as well as what avenues are available to them for asserting their rights.
If you are a Santa Cruz Renter and want to learn more about your rights, or if feel that your rights may have been violated, reach out to us! For more information, local resources, and rights guides, see our Resources page.
Our contact info can be found under the Contact Us tab above. Our hours calendar is below and updated regularly. We are a small project with limited resources and subject to last minute hour changes.
If calling outside of open hours, please leave a voicemail with your name, contact info, and a brief description of your issue. We have high amounts of tenants coming in and will do our best to get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Tenant Sanctuary is a fiscally sponsored project of the Hub for Sustainable Living, a community center and 501(c)3 non-profit based in Santa Cruz, CA. Sustainable living includes skill-building, appropriate and affordable re/use of resources, human-powered transportation, building solidarity among communities, and nurturing creative culture. The Hub supports a board constellation of independent, interrelated projects by providing space at it’s community center, and/or fiscal sponsorship as a non-profit umbrella organization. The Hub’s projects provide access to space, resources, and educational opportunities through demonstration, outreach, and hands-on learning.
